Hen Party in Newry

Welcome to Newry

NEWRY CITY AND MOURNE AREA AS A DESTINATION FOR HEN PARTIES:

Located in the south eastern corner of Northern Ireland, the Newry and Mourne area extends from the southern slopes of the Mourne Mountains to the legendary Ring of Gullion and offers great diversity of scenery, culture and leisure activities.

Newry and Mourne includes some of the most dramatic and picturesque scenery in Ireland and the Ring of Gullion in south Armagh is the most spectacular example of ring-dyke intrusion in The UK and Ireland.

Right in the centre of these two areas of outstanding beauty is the distinguished and historical city of Newry.

Why Newry

With such splendid landscapes surrounding the city limits, it’s easy to know why there’s such a vast scope for exhilarating outdoor activities. But for Hen Parties with a more leisurely visit in mind, within the city you can find plenty of retail therapy, fabulous bars and restaurants, hotels all mixed with the wonderful charm of the Newry people

For the active groups that are interested in burning off the calories the options are wide ranging. Angling at the river Whitewater, Golfing at Cloverhill, Horse riding at the Oakwood Riding centre or Jet Skiing and mountain biking out at Warrenpoint.

There are other adrenalin pumping pursuits such as Hill climbing, cycling, walking and leisure centres providing indoor facilities for the sports minded girls.

If sightseeing is what you’re after, then step back in time at an ancient castle and get to know more about the father of three literary giants. Annalong Cornmill built in 1830

On the same web-site are details of Bagenal’s Castle, a 16th century castle and adjoining 19th century warehouse.

The Bronte Homeland Interpretive centre, the farm land where Patrick, the father of the Bronte sisters was born and reared

A visit to Ti Chulainn Cultural Activity Centre is also worth while.

Shopaholics can immerse themselves in designer gear from elegant threads to bespoke ceramics.

Drop into the 100 year old Newry market and admire the crafts and stalls in this colourful centre.

The Quays and Buttercrane shopping centres have absolutely fabulous department stores plus plenty of boutique shopping to keep any Hen Party busy.

There are lots of choices when it comes to eating, drinking and hotels and plenty of pubs with traditional music and warm atmospheres.
