Newquay is a medium sized town on the North Coast of Cornwall.
Originally a fishing village and minor port it has, in the last 100 years developed into a major holiday destination in the south west of Britain. It is an ideal “hotspot” for Hen Parties, particularly during the summer months where the outdoor girls can get the “natural colour look” as they enjoy the miles of golden sand on the eleven beaches, all warmed by the Gulf Stream current as it drifts up from the Gulf of Mexico.
For Hen Parties that are in the mood for some serious water sports, just sunbathing or admiring panoramic views, Newquay is the place to go.
The beaches around Newquay and the Atlantic coast of Cornwall are simply the finest in Western Europe. The Special combination of crystal blue Gulf Stream water and the pale fine sand give the local beaches that exotic tropical look.
The Beaches more than anything else have played a major role in the establishment of the town as a fantastic spot to visit and also as the Surfing capital of England.
So if your Hen Party is all about surfing, then head to Newquay.
There are lots of other attractions in this quaint English town to turn a ladies head and we are not talking just about the bronze bodied Surfers. There is for example the Towns Fun Park, crammed full of adrenalin pumping attractions, like bumper boats, laser shooting orbitors, battle boats, go-karts, pitch and Putt and the old seaside favourite, Crazy golf.
There are other attractions for the “non-sweating” Hen Parties in Newquay. Tunnels through time for instance is an in-depth look at Cornwall, the land of legend, with its rich and colourful history depicted as scenes of yesteryear and recreated with flair and majesty. It gives the visitor a chance to come face to face with a wonderful array of colourful characters from the county’s romantic and turbulent past, including the Giant “Bolster” King Arthur and his magician, Merlin as well as pirates, cave dwellers and smugglers.
This fantastic Museum brings Cornwall’s rich and colourful history to life and is definitely an attraction not to be missed.
If you’re a lover of Fish and Chips then go to the blue reef aquarium and see your dinner swimming around without the bag of chips, salt and vinegar.
When it comes to accommodation the choice is massive. It ranges from top hotels to budget and medium priced establishments. The choice of Bed and Breakfast is there for those on tight budgets as is the option of going down the self-catering route or stay in a mobile home or camping site.
A great night life plus great beaches encompasses all that a Hen Party outing would require.
