Alexander McQueen

FASHION ICON ALEXANDER MCQUEEN FOUND DEAD:

So sad. Provocative designer Alexander McQueen, once known as the hooligan of English fashion has died at the age of 40. Mr McQueen was found dead at his London home on Thursday 11th February 2010.

Paramedics arrived at his home mid-morning and pronounced him dead at the scene according to a police spokesman who also added that the death was not being treated as suspicious.

Born Lee Alexander McQueen he was the youngest of 6, whose working class family lived in social housing in London’s East End.

He dropped out of school at 16 and became an apprentice on Saville Row. During his time there his clients included Prince Charles and Mikhail Gorbachev.

“At one level he was a master of the fantastic, creating astounding fashions that mixed design, technology and performance and, on another, he was a modern day genius whose Gothic esthetic was adopted by women the World over”…….

British Vogue Editor, Alexandra Shulman.

The first reason Kitchen Parties are a great idea is they are great fun. There is nothing better than sitting with all your female relations and having a good old fashioned giggle. There aren’t too many occasions when all the female generations of a family will be together and so Kitchen Parties are nights that memories are made of. With close family friends on top of this, they are quite simply, lovely evenings for everyone coming up to the wedding.

Another reason to have a Kitchen Party is it is a good value night out. Outside of the wine and nibbles, Kitchen Parties are very cost effective nights out. Its not about the showing off and the glitz of the henparty. Its just about the laughs and the memories. There’s no pressure in terms of showing the girls how its done or impressing the ladies at work. In fact the more modest a Kitchen party, the more laughs are had. This is a great reason to have a Kitchen party.

Kitchen Parties are also another way to create a memorable build up for the Hen. They are another night to look forward to, another night of spoiling her and making her feel everyone thinks she is special.

But perhaps one of the most important reasons of having a Kitchen Party is everyone can get involved. We addressed in chapter two, the age old problem of asking older relations to the henparty. Having a Kitchen Party solves this dilemma. The Hen is free to have her crazy henparty and all the trimmings, as well as having another fun night where the mothers, aunts and Grannies can also send her off, but without the danger of being offended by strippers, willy straws and nasty stories college.
